Day
1
Arrival at New Delhi Airport – your tour to India begins... Upon arrival, proceed for check-in to your hotel at ‘New Delhi’ – the legendary state capital of India. Take own time to settle down in the new environs. Subject to time go for sightseeing New Delhi’s nearby attractions. Overnight stay at the hotel in New Delhi.
Day
2
Today, your exciting journey to India’s Golden Triangle and wildlife takes off… Begin with a sightseeing trip of Delhi. Visit some of Delhi’s precious landmarks, such as, the mighty ‘Red Fort’ (a masterpiece of the Mughal architecture), the ‘Rajghat’ (Memorial of ‘Mahatma Gandhi’, regarded as the ‘Father of India’), and the ‘India Gate’ (a war memorial raised in honour of the Indian soldiers). From the India gate, you can have outside views of two most important buildings of the Indian Democracy – the ‘Parliament House’ and ‘Rashtrapati Bhavan’ (official residence of the Indian President).
Proceed with your Delhi sightseeing and see some more marvels like the ‘Qutub Minar’ (world's tallest free standing brick minaret - the first monument built after the Islamic conquest of Delhi), and the ‘Humayun's Tomb’ (the Mausoleum of Mughal Emperor Humayun - a trendsetter of Indo Islamic architectural style that reached its peak at Taj Mahal).
After the Delhi-stint, come back to hotel, refresh & check-out, and continue your journey to ‘Pink City’ alias Jaipur. On reaching Jaipur, check in to your hotel and relax. Overnight stay at Jaipur.
Day
3
A full day dedicated for Jaipur sightseeing… start with a visit to an elegant mansion, the ‘City Palace’ – an eye catching fusion of Rajputana and Mughal Architecture. Next, visit the nearby ‘Jantar Mantar’ – the largest Stone Astronomical Observatory in the World! Then proceed to view a classic testimony of the Rajputana architecture, the ‘Hawa Mahal’ (meaning ‘Palace of Winds’) – a pyramid shaped facade with five stories & decorated with hundreds of pink sandstone windows. You may feel this amazing structure resembles a giant honeycomb!
Afterwards, tour to some of the city’s famous attractions like; ‘the Monkey Temple’ (an ancient shrine occupied by thousands of monkeys) – where you can feed the ‘special’ inmates. At dinner time, drop in to ‘Choki Dhani’ – an ethnic Village Resort that offers an ideal pastoral experience of Rajasthan. After relishing the unique local cuisines return to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day
4
Now it’s time for some adventure and excitement. Depart Jaipur and travel to the city of ‘Sawai Madhopur’ (the home of Ranthambore National Park). After reaching Sawai Madhopur, depending on time, have a look-around of the famous ‘Madhopur Guavas’ (guava - plants & fruits). Soon, set out to visit the historic ‘Ranthambore Fort’, a massive fortress which lies within the national park-area. Have a panoramic view of the lush wildlife region from the 700+ feet high-stationed fortress. Explore the ages-old stone temples inside the fort. Overnight stay at Ranthambore.
Day
5
This day is for ideally exploring the ‘Ranthambore National Park’ – one of the largest of its kind in the country, and also one with a significant Tiger population.
Apart from its chief occupant (Tigers), this wild habitat houses other animals, birds, reptiles, trees & plants in abundance. You can choose the best option to uncover this national park – a ‘Jeep Safari’. Roam around the jungles… the lucky ones can sight more than one glimpse(s) of those royal predators ‘basking in sunlight’. Enjoy the ‘wild ride’ to its fullest. Overnight stay at Ranthambore.
Day
6
Today’s program combines both wildlife and heritage. First, depart Ranthambore for Agra (the city of Taj Mahal). On the way, halt at ‘Bharatpur’ – a legendary city, now home of ‘Keoladeo Ghana National Park’. Pay a visit to the national park (also known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary), abode of thousands of rare & highly endangered birds. After ample bird-watching, continue your journey towards Agra.
En route, drop in at ‘Fatehpur Sikri’ (once-capital of the Mugal Kingdom, which was abandoned later). Here you can ‘virtually’ travel back to a bygone era, by sightseeing plentiful monuments and red sandstone palaces – all still well preserved.
Soon, an hour’s drive from Fatehpur Sikri brings you to ‘Agra’ – an ancient city plus erstwhile capital of the Mughals. At Agra, set out to see the monument which spread India’s name throughout the world – the finest specimen of Mughal architecture – Taj Mahal. Feast your eyes with this marvel of a monument… even now, only few could match it in terms of beauty & architectural brilliance. Afterwards, check in to your hotel at Agra for overnight stay.
(Taj Mahal will be closed on Fridays for the public, except for those who go for afternoon prayers in the mosque next to the monument)
Day
7
After the Taj-stint, now you have a chance to experience India’s legacy in pre-historic times. Today, depart Agra to Delhi, via, ‘Mathura’ – the legendary birthplace of Hindu God ‘Krishna’. At Mathura, visit the spot where Lord Krishna was born and the ageless Temple nearby (which has withstood many aggressions). Then, see ‘Vrindavan’ – site of an ancient forest which is the region where Lord Krishna spent his childhood.
After the exposure with pre-historic times, continue your trip to Delhi. Subject to time, do a fleeting sightseeing of Delhi’s remaining attractions. Overnight stay at Delhi.
